@enohammocks is based in Asheville, NC and shares their hammocks and relaxation gear with members of ENO Nation around the globe. ENO is passionate about people, the planet, and creating a future where everyone can enjoy their time outside. Through their partnerships such as with the YOTT campaign, they’ve committed to promoting Diversity, Equity, Accessibility, and Inclusion in the outdoors, protecting and preserving our environment and public lands, and serving and supporting our communities through outdoor education and experiences.

@mastgeneralstore has 11 locations across the Southeast with most being in North Carolina, including Boone, Asheville, Hendersonville, and Winston-Salem. This store has been employee-owned since 1995, and is a go-to for outdoor apparel, fun provisions, and gifts! The Mast Store gives back to the communities in three major focus areas—arts, environmental, and human services, encouraging employees to give their time to groups that they are passionate about by paying for up to 8 hours of volunteer time each year. And, they also have a matching funds program to encourage monetary donations!

@footsloggersoutdoors, located in Boone, NC, is dedicated to supplying durable and sustainable goods, supporting their community youth programs, organizations that support those in need in the region, local state parks and land trusts, as well as the Banff Mountain Film Festival’s World Tour stop in Boone.

@trustygopc has been a huge supporter of the Year of the Trail campaign and has multiple locations across North Carolina and beyond. They work to educate and gear up trail enthusiasts to get outside and give a percentage of every sale made in their stores to local conservation efforts!

The @carolinaclimberscoalition have hired the @accessfund from Sept- Nov for a great overhaul of the climbers access trail. They need your help to polish it off for the winter! They will be back this coming spring with the C4 Team as well.

Big news! @railstotrails is awarding ~$348,000 thr

Big news! @railstotrails is awarding ~$348,000 through its 2023 Trail Grants program, which is investing in projects to create inclusive access to trail networks in communities nationwide—and the Great Trails State Coalition was selected as a recipient of a $12,000 #RTCGrant to continue its work and advocacy in 2024!

Since 2008, nearly 230 community and trail organizations like ours have been supported through this program, helping to accelerate the development and enhancement of equitable trail projects around the country.

WXII 12 Presents: The Year of the Trail, airing Mo

WXII 12 Presents: The Year of the Trail, airing Monday, November 13th at 7 p.m., follows WXII 12 News Chief Meteorologist Lanie Pope as she seeks out the natural wonders of our area. Whether it’s the sandy beaches or the fall colors in the mountains, she’ll explore some of the greatest outdoor trails and activities available across North Carolina.

“The natural surroundings just deepen our love for our state,” said Pope. “And this special just might introduce you to places and experiences you didn’t even know existed.”

The program focuses on Pope’s year-long effort to hike trails as part of her Go Lanie series on WXII 12 News. Producer, Daniel Hill, is overseeing the special.
“It’s important to showcase the positive aspects of our home,” said Hill. “Our storytelling highlights the vast opportunities North Carolina’s nature has to offer.”

Tune in at 7pm on @wxii12news - the show is also steaming on the Very Local app so viewers across the state can also access it. Very Local is free on Roku, Amazon Fire TV and on your phone.
