Join the City of Marion for it’s 12th Annual New Year’s Eve Gold Nugget Drop. Events kickoff at 9:00 p.m. and continue through midnight when the City’s gold nugget is dropped into a pot of gold to celebrate McDowell County’s gold heritage.

The McDowell Trails Association will ring in 2023 as the NC Year of the Trail, a year of celebrating trails in McDowell County and North Carolina. Learn more about our Year of the Trail events at our booth on Main Street.
