SUMMARY:Glow in the Park 5K and Concert
DESCRIPTION:Surry Country Parks and Recreation and Surry County Health and Nutrition Center are excited to partner and host the Fourth Annual Glow in the Park 5K at Fisher River Park on October 17th. This will be a glow in the dark 5K where the trails at Fisher River Park will be lit up with blacklights\, glow paint and glow balloons. Participants will have the opportunity to deck themselves out in glow in the dark paint and glow sticks for the race. This will be an evening of fun so bring the whole family out to run or walk. Prior to the race there will be inflatable games\, hayrides\, pumpkin carving\, and many more fun activities available for everyone.There will be a FREE concert by Runaway Train from 7:00pm-9:00pm at the amphitheater.

DESCRIPTION:Harmony Hall Village and the Friends of the Bladen County Public Library\, invite you to a family-friendly storytelling event at the Harmony Hall Plantation Village on Saturday\, October 17th. This ticketed event blends North Carolina folklore with the rich history of the Cape Fear River region in an entertaining\, lantern-lit experience. \nEach ticketed group will be led by lantern-carrying guides on a 90 minute\, 1/2 mile walking tour. Seven eerie and mysterious tales will be recreated by characters immersed in local history. \nFor safety\, each timed group is limited to 15 ticket holders for the dimly illuminated walking tour. Please note that as the tour consists of walking in limited light across natural unpaved terrain throughout the property\, a liability waiver must be signed upon check-in.  Comfortable closed-toe shoes are recommended. \nThis event is rain or shine.  If raining\, please wear appropriate rain gear and/or bring umbrellas. \nKids under 15 must be under supervision of an adult. \nWe look forward to sharing this experience with you along the Cape Fear River! \nSweet treats and souvenirs will be available for purchase on site.
