Celebrate the Great Trails State Day and join a park ranger for a 2-mile round-trip hike at Mayo River State Park’s Anglin Mill Access. We will hike upriver to the North Carolina-Virginia state line, passing by a significant historic Saura Indian site in the Mayo River. We will continue along the river, crossing over Fall Creek, and out to a rock outcrop known as Byrd’s Ledge. Here we will reimagine the wonderful story of “The History of the Dividing Line Betwixt Virginia and North Carolina,” as told by William Byrd.
