Great Trails State Day Group Walk at the Quarry at Grant Park

Take a 2-mile group walk along the paved Greenway from the parking lot to Harding Street and back. Then, follow the trail past the playground to the overlook pier that extends over the eastern side of the quarry, offering views of the deep blue waters of the old quarry that give the park its name and of the city skyline in the distance. Along the route, you will see and learn about North Carolina’s quarries and the rocks extracted from each. The walk begins at 10:00 am at the parking lot and ends at 11:00 am.
