Hot Springs, NC, was devastated last September by Hurricane Helene, but it’s back! It’s official reopening is May 2-3, with ReBuild Hot Springs’ Town & Trail Festival. The festival includes four hikes on popular trails that have been reopened.
Friday, May 2, 9.a.m – Appalachian Trail: Garenflo Gap into Hot Springs, 7 miles.
Friday, May 2, 2 p.m. – Hike the Big Laurel River, 5.6 miles
Saturday, May 3, 9 a.m. — Appalachian Trail: Tanyard Gap into Hot Springs, 5.6 miles
Saturday, May 3, 1 p.m. — Appalachian Trail: Lover’s Leap, 3 miles
All hikes will be lead by Blue Ridge Hiking Co. There is a fee for each hike, which will go directly to the non-profit ReBuild Hot Springs, which is aiding local businesses and residents.
